Earning My Spurs
A Life in Football from Nice to LA and Beyond
My Autobiography
By Hugo LLoris

Hugo Lloris, who is renowned for his "lightning reflexes" and distinct style of play, has always distinguished himself from other goalkeepers. He spent fourteen years as a player and twelve years as captain of the French national team. In 2018, the team won the World Cup. Few people have a deeper understanding of Tottenham Hotspur than him as the club's long-serving captain, having spent eleven years there. Hugo walks us through the high points and low points of his career for clubs and nation in Earning My Spurs. Throughout his career, Lloris has garnered a great deal of popularity and respect for his on-field acts and accomplishments. For the first time, the turbulent reality of his personal highs and lows is exposed beyond his polished exterior. Hugo Lloris, one of the best goalkeepers in modern history, explains in this gripping autobiography what made him special as a player and why he chose to forge his own path in a shark-infested environment rather than using an agent.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: World champion in 2018, Hugo Lloris was the goalkeeper for the French national team from 2008-2022 and captain for twelve of those years. He has played for OGC Nice, Olympique Lyonnais and Tottenham Hotspur. He was named Tottenham's captain in 2015 and in 2016-17 Lloris helped Tottenham achieve the best defensive record in the club's history. Lloris moved to Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC for the 2024 season. He holds the record for most capped player and captain for the French national team and is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in the history of football.
