Paolo Di Canio
The Autobiography

The book and protective dust jacket are in excellent condition. shows very light foxing to page edges, barely noticeable.

Paolo Di Canio was born on July 9, 1968, in Rome, Italy, and emerged as one of the most controversial and electrifying forwards in British football history. Known for his exceptional technical skills and mercurial temperament, he became a cult hero at West Ham United during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Throughout his career, Di Canio played for several notable clubs, including Lazio in Italy and West Ham United in England. He was particularly celebrated for his extraordinary goal-scoring abilities and spectacular playing style. His most famous moment came with a stunning volley against Wimbledon in 2000, which was voted one of the greatest goals in Premier League history.
Di Canio was not just known for his footballing skills but also for his controversial moments. In 1998, he gained notoriety for pushing referee Paul Alcock after receiving a red card, which resulted in an 11-match ban. Despite his temperamental nature, he was regarded as a technically skilled player who could play as a forward, attacking midfielder, or winger.
After retiring as a player, Di Canio transitioned into management, most notably managing Sunderland in the English Championship. His managerial career was as volatile as his playing days, characterised by his passionate and often controversial approach to the game.
Di Canio was also known for his political views, which occasionally overshadowed his sporting achievements. He was an outspoken figure who was not afraid to express his opinions, both on and off the football pitch.
Currently, Paolo Di Canio remains active in football media, providing commentary and analysis for various sports networks. He frequently appears as a pundit, offering his distinctive and often controversial insights into modern football, particularly commenting on Italian and English football.
